Wanderlust 2017 Week 5 - There is No Final!

Hello my lovelies!
I just wanted to share week 5 of Wanderlust with you!
We had to start various pages in different ways, using
items we wouldn't usually use in the first layer.
I must admit it was a bit daunting at first but I had fun &
went with it!

 Paper Tape

Focal Stamps

Used Baby Wipes (sewn on)

Distress Inks (L) Lindys & DecoArt Spray Inks (R)

Modelling Paste (through stencils) (L) Focal Collage (R)

PaperArtsy Infusions & Lindy's Spray Inks

The one above did get finished into a spread HERE.

I'm sure in time, they all will get 'finished' but it was
refreshing to stop each one after the first layer!
Certainly breaks the blank page.
I found completing the spread mentioned above,
easier with the first layer already done.

Are you taking part in Wanderlust 2017?
Let me know in the comments below!

Inspired by Jo Myhill for PaperArtsy.

 I know... 2 posts in 1 day!
Get me!
Over on the PaperArtsy Blog Jo Myhill is guest designer. She has done 3 great projects!
I have tried to incorporate all 3 in my challenge piece.
My photos aren't great as it's dark now & have had to rely on artificial light. A lot of the detail in the background is lost!

I used Fresco Paints in
Toad Hall, Tinned Peas, Sage, Beach Hut, Mocha Mousse mixed with Brown Shed & Blood Orange.
I also used Archival Ink in Olive, Stazon Ink in Timber Brown & Distress Ink in Walnut Stain.

Crochet flower with flower from a necklace & some cogs.

Shrink plastic heart & tag with stitching.

Yes, I used Darcy's Stamps again!
I love them!
I would like to enter this for the PaperArtsy Challenge.
Hope you like it as much as I do!
Thanks for stopping by!

Edit: Here's some pics in daylight. I also decided to add some Treasure Gold in Olive Bronze.

SDD DT Project - Ruperts New Friend

Hiya Crafty Peeps!
It's time for this weeks DT project. I decided to make a Friendship Card.
The Digistamp used is available here.

I made my background using Distress Stains & a Crafters Workshop Stencil. I added some rectangles of handmade paper. I stamped words like 'Friendship' that are by Claritystamp. I used Archival Ink in Blue Violet.
I printed off & coloured in the image with Promarkers. I used a 'dotty' technique for the background of the image. I finished it off by outlining it all in Copper Fineliner Pen.

I hope you like it!
Thanks for stopping by!
You can also find it on the SDD Facebook page.

PaperArtsy Challenge Inspired by France Papillon Wax ATCs.

 Hiya Lovelies!
I just wanted to share something I've been experimenting with...

Over at PaperArtsy France Papillon has been guest designer.
She came up with this fab project to celebrate their 10th Birthday.
Check it out HERE.
I really wanted to have a go at this but my mum still has my melt pot!
I didn't want to ask for it back as she gets put off trying new stuff easily... (she's had it 3 months!) I knew if I asked her for it she would never try UTEE!
Anyway I digress...
I came up with a plan!

I started with a postcard from PaperArtsy & cut it to size.

After realising that I didn't have any beeswax, I melted some old white candles that I've had since the dawn of time! I figured it was wax so it might work?! I tried melting one in the microwave... this took about 4 mins & the glass got so hot it kept it melted for ages! I added 2 blobs of distress reinker in Vintage Photo. It blobbed but turned the clear wax yellow after a few stirs! I wanted it to age the wax if you know what I mean...

I brushed on a couple of layers & all the wax was gone! So this time I melted 2 candles into my glass bowl with my trusty heatgun! Much quicker! I added a big blob of Vintage Photo as before but it just coloured the bottom of my bowl...oh well!
Can you tell I was getting a bit impatient?!

I poured on the wax & smoothed it over with a palette knife & forced it.

I peeled them off my craft sheet & tidied them up.
I didn't have any fishy stamps so I used my Recycle Art Mini Stamp & my Imagination Rules The World Stamp & Stazon Ink in Black.

As you can see  they have turned out rather pants but it was fun to try!

I need to get me some fishy stamps, beeswax & my meltpot back!!!!

I would like to add this poor attempt into the challenge over at PaperArtsy!
Thanks for stopping by!

Card for Mum.

Hiya Lovelies!
On Sunday I visited Colemans Craft Warehouse in Rushden. Lin Brown was demoing there. I also needed a few bits. It was a great day except for the fiasco on the way home! Those of you who follow me on Twitter will probably know but for those that don't, we broke down & had to be towed home!

Anyway, Mums birthday card....
I bought some Crafty Individuals stamps from Colemans on Sunday (along with a few Frescos Paints & Treasure Gold!) & decided to use one on mums card. I also bought a stencil by Crafters Workshop which I used for the background. I started by swiping Old Paper Distress Stain over some paper. To my amazement it had turned green! I only used it the other day & it was fine, so I emailed Ranger!

Now I decided to carry on with my green background... I used Picket Fence Distress Stain through my stencil & then Fresco Paint in Sage. I then blended Scattered Straw Stain around the edges & ran Peeled Paint Stain on the outside edges to give a border.
I stamped the image onto the background & a tag & coloured it in with my distress stains & a waterbrush. I also used Olive Bronze Treasure Gold around the edges. I cut it out & layered it onto the image on the background. I filled in the hearts & tassell with Sepia Accents.
I used Old Paper Distress Stain on a doily which I had cut into quarters & stuck it onto the background on the inside of the card. I then added 'Mother' in scrabble tiles down the side.

On the inside I finished off the card with an old book page & note. The note is just a notebook page aged with Scattered Straw Distress ink. I then stamped a heart & ornate corners in Memento ink in London Fog on the opposite side. I went over them again with gold paint. I also filled in the small heart with Sepia Accents.

I hope she likes it!
