More Sezzing! Table and Tablet Case

Hello my lovelies! I have posted on Instagram and FB but wanted to share here too! I decided to 'Sez' some more! (Sez is altering/personalising in my style). I tend to use my art table as a big palette while I work, as you can see in the first photo. So it naturally called out to me to be one big art piece that I can add to!

I had loads of fun! I finished it off with some acrylic ink splats. I love how it turned out and I've actually found that it inspires me to create more, which is great! I am planning to nest in my new studio and once I've finished I will post pics. 😊

Well, after 'Sezzing' my table I went on to 'Sez' my new tablet case. It started out as plain red. I couldn't leave it like that so I had a whale of a time! Lots of funky layers in acrylic paint and I used POSCA pens for details. Love it! 😊

Even on the inside!

I hope I've inspired you to have a go at altering boring every day objects into works of art!
Thanks for stopping by, I really appreciate it.
Much love

Personalising My Mobility Aids

Hello my lovelies!
I wanted to share with you something that is arty but also personal too. If you know me in real life or are friends with me on FB you will probably already know that I am disabled. If not you do now!  Anyway, I was kinda waiting in case I got fixed. I can't be fixed. So in order for me to get closure on my old life I decided to make my 'aids' mine. So I 'Sezed' them! (Sezed means personalised them) 😊
I used some fab Galaxy Duck Tape as a starting point. I applied the tape to the metal parts I wanted to cover. This took me a while! It wasn't particularly easy either, but I did it! I then sponged on some Black, Purple, Pink and Orange acrylic paint in different areas making sure I covered the joins of the tape to hide them. I then flicked White acrylic paint on with a toothbrush. Once dry I added some Iridescent glitter glue in spots to look like stars. I also made some covers for the armrests on my wheelchair. They are made from fluffy socks and elastic so I can wash them. I am happy with how my 'aids' have turned out and they're definitely more 'Sez'.

My wheelchair is named 'Speedy'. I need her for distances out and about.

This is my crutch it's name is Crutch... haha! 😜 Well that's the name that stuck, not very imaginative, but there you are!

I really appreciate you stopping by my little blog.
Much love and crafty hugs

Mixed Media Altered Box

Hiya my lovelies!
I wanted to share my Mum Box.
My daughter made it for me at school!
The M is for Mum.
She wanted me to decorate it so I did!

I used lots of gel medium to stick lots
of random bits & pieces!
I love using found objects, broken jewellery
& embellishments to my projects.

I waited for them to dry & covered it all with a layer of tissue paper.

Gives lovely texture doesn't it?
I used my new Lindy's Stamp Gang Sprays & Magicals.
I love them!

I used Phantom Fushsia Moon Shadow Mist.
It has a brown aging effect with a purple shimmer.
Shabby Turbine Teal, Time Travel Teal
& Cocklebelles Coral Starburst Sprays.
Bonjour Butter, Steel Shimmer, Magicals &
Frenchy's Pink Pouf, Pink Ladies Pink
& Kissin' Kenikie Coral Flat Magicals.
Which you can use as a paint when mixed with water!
Love it!

Voila!
I've tried to show it well
but the photos really don't do it justice!
I'm really happy with it.
It's now on my dressing table with my bits & bobs in.
😊
Thanks for stopping by, I really appreciate it!

6 days in... Hello 2017!

Follow my blog with Bloglovin
 Hiya my lovelies!
Yes it's been a while, I know.
I've had a lot go on in the house of chaos...
Now, this should have been written a few days ago but I was
completely out of action thanks to feeding 17
on Christmas Day and going out for New Year!
Fibromyalgia and events doesn't mix at the best of times
especially when you're waiting for surgery!
Well, we said goodbye to 2016 yay!
Not the best year for me it has to be said! What with my health
going down the pan and loosing my job, being in constant agony and
waiting to see consultants and surgeons, I wont miss it!
Anyway, 2017 IS going to be way better! (Whether it likes it or not!)

Last year I discovered the wonderful Leonie Dawson
and bought her workbooks and planner. Her books are really
colourful and artsy! I got them at the end of January after seeing
Jenniebellie use them in her Creative Goal Journaling class over at
They really helped me set goals and organise myself until
I became poorly and lost all consistency.
I loved using them and re-ordered for this year too.
Which I am glad to say, I am constantly using and checking
in with myself. Which helps me focus on tasks and goals, not on what's
going on with me physically.
(I am not affiliated, I just love them!)

Last summer they were selling off some planners cheap so
I bought them with the intention of altering them as art journals.
Well, I had a bright idea!

I decided that my wonderful, unorganised and mess of a daughter
Freya, NEEDED something to help her!
So I went about and re-dated each day for the whole year until
it was correct for 2017!
I used heart stickers and washi tapes.
I wrote out days of the week and stuck them over the previous ones.

I gessoed the front and back covers in Black.
I then painted a portrait of her on the front.
She's a rock chick, like her mum!

She loves it! I hope she uses it as much as I use mine!

Next up... with 2017 firmly in my mind I wanted to make a
mood board with my intentions on it.
I wanted to combine what I had learned in Tam Laporte's Class
'Happy Traveller' over at Willowing.
It was part of Lifebook12 which I bought on sale!
I loved making her and she's full of promise, just like 2017!
I've got to be positive haven't I?
I wrote all the things I want to manifest in 2017 in her hair and
I also wrote my words for the year, "Be Brave" inside her pendant.
I love using jewellery in my art, and this sums up what I need this year.
I need to be brave. I may have more awful crappy stuff to get through
before this year is up and I need to just be brave and go for it!

It also features my cat Tilly!
My little companion through the year whilst keeping
my lap nice and warm.

Sorry this post was late!
One of my goals is to be a much more consistant
blogger!
I really appreciate you stopping by, please leave a comment...
It shows me you care!

Upcycled Kitchen Clock

Hiya my lovelies!
2 posts in 1 day... blimey!
I just wanted to share my most recent make.
I upcycled an old tray into a clock for my newly decorated kitchen.

I used 12x12" scrapbooking paper 'Market Street' by My Mind's Eye.
I love this design. I also used the numbers from 'Digitangle' Digikit for Serif.
Slapped on with Matte medium.
I used a clock timepiece & hands that I've had knocking around for ages.
Finished off with a coat of Matt 'Crystal Clear' spray to seal it.

Ta Da!
I'm really happy with it.
I love it when a plan comes together, don't you?

Cheers for stopping by & leave a comment!

& bits of broken jewellery. I also used my new
Decoart Media Fluid Acrylics & Vintage Lace Fresco Paint.
I also stamped onto the MDF ATC using Stay Strong Stamp

I hope you like it as much as I enjoyed making it!

My Cosmic Gown

Hiya my lovelies!
I've got something a bit different to share today...
My little brother (who's not so little) got married in New York a few weeks ago!
The newlyweds had a reception here when they got back.

I originally got my dress from the Oxfam website.
I fell in love with it but wanted to tweak it a bit.
So, I decided to 'decorate' it.
I started by masking off the top of the dress.
I wanted to keep this plain.
I got out my Decoart Media Misters and my Daler Rowney
Pearlescent Acrylic Inks & basically went bonkers with them!
I had to take it outside after realising I'd got it all over my floor...
(I always realise after) but it cleaned up with baby wipes!
Round two was done in the garden hung up on the washing line.

Close up

It shines all different colours in the light!

I was over the moon with the results!
My very own cosmic, shimmery gown.

I had to make the happy couple a card too!
I used a stencil from TCW Mini Life Remembered & used some
pink and blue Daler Rowney pearlescent Acrylic Ink & sponged it on
as a background. Once dry I stamped the metal patchwork heart stamp from
PaperArtsy Eclectica Darcy 02 set for my brother (he's a welder) &
I used the word heart stamp from PaperArtsy Eclectica Darcy 01
set for his wife (she's a teacher) Get it?
Anyway, I went round the edges with Archival Ink in Watering Can
which I also used on the stamps!
Ta da!
My version of a CAS card which is a first!

Now it was all going to plan until the day of the reception...
I spent most of the day sorting my tribe out (there's quite a few of us, 6 to be exact)
& getting ready. This takes me so much longer to do now.
Troweled enough make up on to render a wall,
remembering not to put my dress on til last,
otherwise I'd get it dirty before we'd even left the house!
Stepped in my dress to put it on & after 3 of us trying to
squeeze me into it & do the zip up,
it wasn't happening.
Yep, I've put on so much weight in 4 weeks it doesn't fit!
BLOOMIN' MEDS!!!

All was not lost, I had a back up dress.
All girls have a back up dress.
Still, I'm sad I didn't get to wear my cosmic gown.
One day...

Cheers for stopping by!
Feel free to leave a comment.

PaperArtsy Pattern Challenge

Hiya my lovelies!
I'm actually going to enter a challenge!!!!
Woo hoo!
It has been too long, I know.
This project is for the PaperArtsy Pattern Challenge.
I found an old Amazon box, (other online stores are available)
you know the ones like a folder, & thought I'd give it a paint!

Items for this project are:

I'll tell you what I used as we go along anyway!
Ok, I started by gessoing the entire folder.
I then squirted Spanish Mulberry, Pansy, Concrete & South Pacific
Fresco Finish Paint (my fave colours)
& used a dry brush to slap them on! I love this technique because
you never know how it will turn out! Fabulous!

Turned out like this!

I then painted a coat of South Pacific & let it dry with the help
of my trusty heat gun. (I was getting impatient!)
I then dry brushed another coat on top.
Love the result!

On the hinge parts of the folder I stamped a hinge image
from the HP1103 set 2 inches down from the top & 2 inches up from the bottom.
I did this on each one using Jet Black Archival Ink.
I then stamped the lock from the same set.
I stamped the big stamp along the top & bottom using Watering Can Archival Ink.
Then using the leaf stamp I created some patterns.
These were in Watering Can Archival Ink too.

I then went around the edges with the hollow circle strip stamp from FR4 set
in Watering can Archival Ink. I then squirted some Pumpkin Soup Fresco
onto a palette & stamped circles using an old tape tube.
I lined up the rest of the stamps in FR4 set to make a pattern
& stamped the flaps using Watering Can Archival Ink. I also
stamped on the other side in the same ink but I used the cog stamp from EDY01.
I used some low tack masking tape around the area so I didn't overstamp.
I like to use this grey colour for stamping backgrounds as it doesn't stand out too much.

I decided to overstamp the lock & hinge stamps using Copper Pearlised Paint.
I also used this to paint a rectangle inside on the top flap and around the edges.
I overstamped the copper rectangle inside with the
Happiness stamp from HP1103 using Jet Black Archival Ink.
I added a piece of ribbon and a handmade (by me) polymer clay
bead as a closure & a notebook & pen.

Voila!
I really like how it turned out.
Cheers for stopping by.
Leave me some love & come back soon!

My Last Lunchbags & Art for Me!

 Hi there my lovelies!
I know it's been a while since I shared anything with you...
I've been so busy with work, training & family stuff that I haven't had time to do much!
If you follow me on Twitter, you might recall me getting a large order for bags.
Well, thankfully it was cancelled!
I know some of you might wonder why I use the word 'thankfully',
but in all honesty I am thankful!
Since starting my job I seem to have less & less time to do stuff...
(My washing is cascading down the stairs as I type!)
My brain is turning to scrambled egg with all the training I'm doing & I'm feeling like
I've been plugged in & drained of all energy... mentally, physically & emotionally.
But putting all that aside, I know that once I get to the Easter Break I will be able to recharge
myself & put in place strategies that will help me & my family cope better.
Anyway, getting to the point of this post...
I have FINALLY finished my last order for lunchbags!
I have decided that the 23 bags I have made up to now are a limited edition!
Not only have I not got the time to do them, but I have lost the joy a little so I need to do something else! Which I'll come to in a bit...

I made these bags for a colleague & her daughter.

Her favourite things are seahorses & rainbows... The same as me!
Her daughter loves campervans & her stuffed toy 'Moley' so I made him driver!

I hope they like them!

So, to the something else!
Earlier, I said that I feel drained. So, I have decided to heal myself using my art.
I have signed up to a free online course that the fab Jenniebellie is running.
She shows you how to use what you have to make an 'Inspiration Station' which helps in times of creative block & she shows how to make your own journals.
I love Jenniebellie's videos on YouTube & I urge you to take a look at them!
I am going to spend what little spare time I have just making art for me,
to help me work my stresses away & to calm my spirits.
I may share some of what I have made with you.

Thanks for stopping by I really appreciate it!
Feel free to leave a comment.

Memorial bags.

 Hello my lovelies!
Just a quick post to share my latest commission...
This was a tricky one!
My friend asked me to make 2 lunch bags for her sisters but with a difference...
She wanted them to feature her dad & the things he loved,
as she was giving them to her sisters at his memorial.
He always wore black croc shoes,
he love the gee-gees (horseracing) & he played darts & bingo, so
I featured these on the bag with a simple portrait of him.

I found it hard to get them exactly the same.

I hope she likes them!
 Thanks for stopping by!
