Wanderlust 2018 Week 3

Hello again my lovelies!
Last year I got stuck on a few of the lessons in all the courses I took, so this year I'm only doing the lessons I really want to do. So no more stuck and no week 2!
Today I want to share my versions of the 2 projects by Jennifer Lee for week 3 of Wanderlust 2018.
You can join Wanderlust 2018 here.

The first project is a 12x12 inch canvas with a rose mandala.

This year my word is Love and I want to 'do all things with love' so this is my reminder!

The second project is a journal spread of a compass. I put my home town in the centre because my home is the centre of my world.

I'm so glad you could visit me here today, I really do appreciate the support!
Until next time...
Much love

Travellers Notebook

Hello again my lovelies!
Today I wanted to share my travellers notebook.
I'm travelling in a few days and wanted to take my
journals with me. So I made my own version...

I made the cover using a 12" x 16" canvas. I painted it using
Decoart Media Fluid acrylics & some Daler Rowney Graduate acrylic paints.
Once dry, I cut it from the frame & sewed a hem around the edges.
I decided I wanted to add a pocket on the front so I painted an old pocket from a
pair of jeans & glued it on. I then sewed around the edges to add security & detail.
I added a flower motif using a POSCA pen.
I glued some black EVA foam cut to size & when dry sewed around the edges
to stop it from coming apart. I used some elastic to create the binding & closure.
You can find lots of tutorials for this on YouTube.
I also added some of my paper beads & dangles. I LOVE dangles!!!

Inside it holds my bible journal which I write scripture in everyday.
I find it helps me remember them & I find comfort in it.

Then there is a plain blank journal in which I will be putting our daily
adventures & photos of our upcoming travels!
I bought an Instax camera (small polaroid type) so I can stick photos straight in!
Eeek! So excited to do this!

I have made a pocket section using Scrapbook Paper.
I keep my list of scriptures to write for the month & a travel palette that I made.

Jenniebellie has a fab tutorial on this HERE.

I also sewed on the pencil pouch at the back.
That way I won't forget it!

Inside I will keep my supplies.
Don't know if I will keep it to just these or add
some watercolour pencils too!

Here's the back!

Voila!
I am going to keep it in my hand luggage so I can play on the plane.
That will keep my mind off flying!

Hope you're having a fab Summer!
I'll do a post when we are home.

Canvas Inspired by Wanderlust Week 2

Hiya my lovelies!
Another week nearly over and the weekend beckons!

I completed my canvas last night that was inspired by
the lessons taught in week 2 of Wanderlust2017.
I wanted to share it with you!

I didn't stick to the lesson as such,
I kinda always end up doing my own thing!
This piece is certainly inspired by it but was more intuitive.
I discovered my favourite ever techniques whilst creating it,
which is a total bonus!

I scraped the different layers whilst they are
damp revealing the layers underneath.
Gorgeous!

I held the heat gun close to the paint too,
It gives a great bubbly effect.
I loooove the texture it creates!!!

Added some Gold.

I used my thumb print as a focal point.
I have no idea why I just had to!

I used a mixture of PaperArtsy Fresco Paints,
DecoArt Media Fluid Acrylics
and Pebeo High Viscosity Studio Acrylics.

I'm so in love with it!

Let me know what your
favourite techniques are at the moment.

Mixed Media Madness Couse

Hiya my lovelies!
I know it's been a while...
I lost my creative mojo for a bit. Being poorly does that to me sometimes.
You can read about that HERE.

Anyway I felt that I needed a bit of a kick up the bum!
So, I enroled on an online course,
Mixed Media Madness by Miriam Schulman @ The Inspiration Place
It's a great course especially if you are new to mixed media.
I felt inspired after watching the video tutorials and made
these canvases for my newly decorated kitchen!

Sometimes watching others kickstarts the creative juices!
I have also enroled on next years Wanderlust 2017 course.
So watch this space!

Cheers for stopping by & leave me a comment!

Find Courage Mixed Media Canvas

Hiya my lovelies.
I'm back again!
I just wanted to share something
I've made for a friend of mine.

I used lots of MDF shapes from Things To Alter
& bits of broken jewellery. I also used my new
Decoart Media Fluid Acrylics & Vintage Lace Fresco Paint.
I also stamped onto the MDF ATC using Stay Strong Stamp
from Visible Image & Archival Ink in Jet Black.

I hope you like it as much as I enjoyed making it!
Cheers for stopping by & leave me a comment!

Class at Artist Trading Post with Finnabair

 Hello my lovelies!
I know it's been a while since I last blogged!
I have been a mixture of exhausted & catching up on housework
 since starting my new job..
Anyway I digress!
I attended 2 workshops organized by Artist trading post with the amazing Finnabair yesterday.
If you ever get the chance to do one, go for it! She's a fabulous artist & a lovely person to boot!

The first canvas features myself & the fabulous Mr.Golf ( my lovely husband) on our wedding day.
He deserves a medal for driving me 90 miles to the workshop &
then sat & waited ALLDAY for me & driving back!
He must love me! lol!

The second canvas uses a 3D rocking horse.
Both canvasses use Finnabairs Mechanicals range
plus a few other bits & bobs!
While I was there I picked up a few items...
Well it would be rude not to!

I'm planning on having a play, when time allows...
so watch this space!

Thanks for stopping by.

DT Project for SDD - Rupert's Tomatoes

Hiya crafty peeps!
It's time for this weeks DT project for Stamping Dragon Designs.
This weeks Digi Stamp is available here.
As soon as I saw this stamp I thought of my garden...
I printed out the stamp onto A4 canvas sheets that I got in Aldi!
I then painted it with Fresco Paints, cut it out & sewed it on my gardening bag!

Close up.

I hope you like it as much as I do!
Hope to see you on the SDD Facebook Page!

PaperArtsy Challenge Prize

Hiya!
 Hope you are all well!
A couple of weeks ago I entered a challenge at the PaperArtsy blog.
They had Darcy Wilkinson over as a guest designer...
(If you have time, checkout my Coaster post & my Coaster Holder post.)
Anyway...I won!
My prize was these fab stamps by Jo Firth-Young for PaperArtsy.

I had to use them straight away... as you do!
So, I made a couple of cards...

and then later on I made these canvasses...

I hope you like them!
Thanks for stopping by.
