Mantle Clock.

I bought a mantle clock from a discount store for my living room... I knew as soon as I saw it that I would end up altering it as it was WHITE! I love colour & anyone who has been in my home will know this! I love going to discount/charity shops & find things that I can make beautiful! Anyway, I took the face off the base & sanded it with sandpaper to create a key. I masked off the face & then painted the whole thing with black gesso.

Once dry I coated some of it in patches of PVA glue... Waited until it was dry & then gave it a coat of teal paint. Where the PVA was the paint cracks as it acts as a resist. Voila shabby chic!

Then I went to town with the colours, stencils & stamps!

Pride of place in it's new home...on my mantelpiece!

ATC Madness!

Recently I have fallen madly in love with ATCs... They are fabulous for trying out techniques & new stamps etc. I have recently done a swap with one of my Twitter followers in the USA. I only sent her 3 but carried on making them & now I've organised a small local swap through Facebook. Anyway, keeping in mind that I'm slightly obsessed with them I wanted to enter one into some blog challenges.

So, here's my Strawberi Sprite ATC. She's made from a Tatty Button Stamp. I had to stamp it so her legs were shorter as she wouldn't fit! Her wings are a butterfly stamp by Sheena Douglass. To get the wings behind her, I stamped Tatty onto some masking tape, cut out & fixed over the top of my image & them stamped the butterfly over the top. When the mask is removed the wings appear behind... magic! I coloured her in using my water soluble wax crayons. I used them for the background too. I then used my fine liners in black & copper to finish.
I would like to enter this into Lisa B Designs Wings & Things Challenge.

Paperartsy #3up Challenge

Those of you that follow me on Twitter, might have wondered what the #3up #patwits posts were all about...
Well, some of us on there are of an arty persuasion & we all chat about what we make & some friendships have been formed. Some of us were sent a secret message asking if we would like to be part of a mystery make! I of course said yes! None of us knew who else was doing it or what we would be sent & I had to keep it a secret! Once done my finished project would be published on the Paperartsy Blog! I nearly burst with excitement!
Anyway a couple of days past & my package arrived & inside was this...

This is what I came up with...

More Notebooks!

These notebooks were bought from Scotch Lodge farm shop. I altered them using various paints, stencils & stamps. The heart stamp is available here & the grunge texture stamp is available here. I can't remember the company the affirmation stamps were from but I got them from The Hobbycraft Stamp & Stitch show at the Birmingham NEC in 2011. I love them & use them a lot! The 'Dream Big' stamp is from here. I finished them off with ribbons & twine. I hope you like them. Thanks for looking!

Notebooks

Hi there! Just wanted to share some notebooks I have altered. I bought them from Paperartsy a while ago. I love that website! Checkout their fantastic blog here.  The first one I used various paints & inks. The sentiment stamp is DYP from Indigo Blu. The postmark stamp is from Kaisercrafts. The other two notebooks were decoupaged with scrap paper. One has a vintage photo from The Graphics Fairy & the other uses the Word Up stamp from Andy Skinner. I hope you like them.
Thanks for looking!

Card for Dean Wilson.

Hi guys! Just a quick post of a card I made for Dean Wilson of C&C fame! Its his birthday at the same time as the competition (see previous post). So I thought I'd make him a card too! It's hand drawn by me & coloured using promarkers. I used some little black gems for the noses on the bunny slippers too. Hope he likes it.

Card for Create & Craft Tv.

Hi guys! Just wanted to post a couple of pics of a card I made for a competition. This card is to celebrate 10 years of the Create & Craft TV channel. I drew some of the presenters & coloured them in with promarkers. I inked the background with Dylusions spray inks in various colours. Embossed it using my big shot and a spotty embossing folder from sissix. Then I brushed it with mica powder in various colours. I printed off some balloons that were from My Craft Studio Occasions and put some Glossy Accents on them to give dimension & texture, cut them out & mounted them with sticky pads.Added a sentiment with the logo & mounted it onto green mirri card. I used brads & gems to bring it altogether. Hope they like it!
 Thanks for looking!
