Alpha Collage Storage Tutorial

Hello my lovelies!
Today I want to share a storage solution that I made myself. I was storing my alpha collage in a plastic wallet but I was having to search through it every time I wanted to make a word! That's a crazy amount of wasted time! If you follow me on Instagram you may have seen my post venting my frustration! Here is my old storage for my Alpha's....

So I decided to do something about it! I do keep a few boxes around (just in case) and I found this one. It was perfect for what I wanted to do. It measures 30cm long by 12cm wide and 6cm deep.

I cut up a different box to make a lift out tray for the first half of my alphas. It measures 28cm long by 11cm wide with 2.5cm flaps to make the sides. I notched out 7 slits for the central wall to sit in.
The sides of each compartment were made up of 6 strips of cardboard measuring 11cm long by 2.5cm high. I cut slits at 4cm intervals for them in the central wall.

I assembled it together and glued them all in place. I taped them to keep them together while they dried. Once dried I taped all the edges with paper tape so it would strengthen and make the card easier to paint. I repeated the same to the interior of the box for the bottom tray. Each of the 28 sections measures 3.5cm by 5cm. I had 2 spare for &'s ?'s !'s etc.

I painted the entire box inside and out with Black Gesso and added decoration to the top and a velcro fastening. Ta da!

It's now so easy to find what I want! I'm really happy with how it turned out. 😊
Thanks so much for stopping by!
Much Love
Sez x
