Hello my lovelies!

Please forgive me! I am making up for it now.
Go grab a cuppa because I'm on blogging overdrive to get you up to date! Now I need to let you know that I had to stop doing #minimoleydaily pages. I just got so behind that I couldn't catch up which was making me stress about it. So I needed to let it go. I got behind with my #Journal52 pages too but I have managed to catch up.This post is weeks 15-21. I will blog the next entries in following posts!

AWOL Apology and Holiday Smashbook

Hello my lovelies!
I know I have been AWOL since the summer. I need to apologise for that. My health has deteriated somewhat and I have had to make some changes and have had to rest a lot. When I have managed to do anything creative I have only managed to post some of it on my Facebook page Pinterest and Instagram. I hope to make up for it with all the following posts! I am on blogging overdrive, so sit back with a cuppa! I'm also trying out a new layout of my posts so let me know what you think!

I had a wonderful holiday with my tribe to Lanzarote, and I did use my Travellers Notebook while away to take notes about our days and to store some bits and bobs to bring home. I used them to make a Holiday Smashbook, well my version of it anyway...
I used a photo album type book that I bought while we were there.

I thought it would be a lovely way of documenting our holiday together. It was our first holiday abroad as a family and my first since being diagnosed with my illnesses. I did have days while we were away that I was bad so I just rested those days. I also cured my fear of flying! I sat near the window and even videoed the take off on my phone! Get me! 😎

Thank you for stopping by, I really do appreciate it! On to the next post....

Travellers Notebook

Hello again my lovelies!
Today I wanted to share my travellers notebook.
I'm travelling in a few days and wanted to take my
journals with me. So I made my own version...

I made the cover using a 12" x 16" canvas. I painted it using
Decoart Media Fluid acrylics & some Daler Rowney Graduate acrylic paints.
Once dry, I cut it from the frame & sewed a hem around the edges.
I decided I wanted to add a pocket on the front so I painted an old pocket from a
pair of jeans & glued it on. I then sewed around the edges to add security & detail.
I added a flower motif using a POSCA pen.
I glued some black EVA foam cut to size & when dry sewed around the edges
to stop it from coming apart. I used some elastic to create the binding & closure.
You can find lots of tutorials for this on YouTube.
I also added some of my paper beads & dangles. I LOVE dangles!!!

Inside it holds my bible journal which I write scripture in everyday.
I find it helps me remember them & I find comfort in it.

Then there is a plain blank journal in which I will be putting our daily
adventures & photos of our upcoming travels!
I bought an Instax camera (small polaroid type) so I can stick photos straight in!
Eeek! So excited to do this!

I have made a pocket section using Scrapbook Paper.
I keep my list of scriptures to write for the month & a travel palette that I made.

Jenniebellie has a fab tutorial on this HERE.

I also sewed on the pencil pouch at the back.
That way I won't forget it!

Inside I will keep my supplies.
Don't know if I will keep it to just these or add
some watercolour pencils too!

Here's the back!

Voila!
I am going to keep it in my hand luggage so I can play on the plane.
That will keep my mind off flying!

Hope you're having a fab Summer!
I'll do a post when we are home.

Circle Journal & Box

Hello my lovelies!
Now, this is a photo heavy & fairly long post.
Go grab a cuppa & then we'll begin!

😊

I have joined a group of ladies in a year long project.
We all make a journal from envelopes & each person has to post
theirs to someone in the group.
Each person completes a spread & then posts it on.
After a year we get them back filled with others lovely artwork!
Hence the name Circle Journal!
I made my journal from 8"x8" envelopes using Maremi's Small Art's technique.

I then created some panels for the outside & first 2 pages.
I used 2 cards the envelopes came with for this.
I cut the cards in half.
I'm really into creating abstracts at the moment & I love it!

I also did a baby wipe!

I used the baby wipe to create the cover for the binding
& part of the closure which I sewed to an elastic headband.
I also did some random embroidery to decorate it.

Journal front

First 2 pages.

Each person has a 2 page spread.
They can choose to work on card & stick it in.
They don't have to use the pocket on the left page.
They need to use colours, techniques & materials they wouldn't
normally. And most of all have fun!

Journal back

Binding made with baby wipe.
Finished off with dangles of different yarns/fibres
& handmade paper beads.

Now onto the box!

I love recycling & keep useful boxes... don't we all?
I had to cut it down to fit the journal
& painted it with a layer of white gesso.
I forgot to take photos of that as I was 'in the zone'!
😊

I had loads of fun.
Then when I had to leave it to dry,
I remembered to take some photos!

I glued the inside panels in & the sealed the whole thing with wax.
Hopefully it makes it a bit waterproof!

Fits perfectly!

I have asked that the box be continually re-used for posting.
Who wouldn't want to get a parcel like this?

I'm all ready for it to be sent to the first person &
I'm looking forward to receiving someone else's journal to
complete pages in. I will be posting as & when.
So watch this space!
I'm also looking forward to getting mine back full of lovely
artwork!

You can find daily(ish) postings on my Instagram.

Have you joined in to a circle journal group?
Let me know in the comments.
